Vanessa Carlton - 1000 Miles

Makin' my way downtown,
Walkin' fast,
Faces pass and I'm homebound.

Starin' blankly ahead,
Just makin' my way,
Makin' a way through the crowd.

And I need you,
And I miss you,
And now I wonder...

If I could fall into the sky,
Do you think time
would pass me by?
'Cause you know I'd walk a thousand miles
If I could just see you...
Tonight.

It's always times like these
When I think of you,
And wonder if you ever think of me.

'Cause everything's so wrong
And I don't belong.
Livin' in your precious memory.

'Cause I need you,
And I miss you,
And now I wonder...

If I could fall into the sky,
Do you think time
would pass me by?
'Cause you know I'd walk a thousand miles
If I could just see you...
Tonight.

I, I, don't wanna let you know
I, I, drown in your memory.
I, I, don't wanna let this go.
I, I, don't.

Makin' my way downtown,
Walkin' fast,
Faces pass and I'm homebound.

Starin' blankly ahead,
Just makin' my way,
Makin' a way through the crowd.

And I still need you,
And I still miss you,
And now I wonder...

If I could fall into the sky,
Do you think time
Would pass.. us by?
'Cause you know I'd walk a thousand miles
If I could just see you...

oh oh

If I could fall into the sky,
Do you think time would pass me by?
'Cause you know I'd walk a thousand miles
If I could just see you.

If I could just hold you....
Tonight.

  1. I don't know why I'm doing this to myself....I stumbled upon this blog while looking for inspiration for my own; I'm trying to get over this guy I am really, deeply in love with, and your posts seem to resonate with what I am feeling right now....I'd like to stop crying, that'd make it easier to sleep....I just can't get this guy OUT of my HEAD! This is an old post, and I'e read that you have since found love again, which is wonderful<3 I just don't want to forget how much this man meant to me....I'm afraid that if I find someone else, what I've had with this guy will just evaporate into space as though it never happened. I would totally walk a thousand miles to see him. In the middle of the friggen snowiest, windiest Canadian winter. Uphill.
